Amati Racing, Inc. Wins Second Consecutive AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Event

Two weeks after winning the historic and coveted “USAC 4-Crown Nationals” at the famed “House That Earl Built” Eldora Speedway, Thomas “Tmez” Meseraull parked the Amati Racing / Marion Underground / Zeller Construction / DMI / Swindell Bleeders / AMSOIL / Karnes Signs / Dynotech / DRC #66 in victory lane at Lawrenceburg Speedway in the $10,000 to win “Fall Nationals” with the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series.

After a 7th place qualifying run the team made a few changes to the #66 to get it dialed in for the heat race. Tmez started the 3rd heat race in the 5th spot and would quickly throw a double slider in the opening laps for 3rd place and then settle in finishing in that spot transferring into the A-main to go to battle for the $10k prize at the end of the night.

In the feature Tmez did not waste any time and went on the attack early from his 4th starting position in the Donnie Gentry prepared “Andrea Caroline Special”. After passing Brady Bacon for the lead only to have it taken away due to a caution flag, it was a repeat performance on the restart as he entered turn-one with a monster slide job for the lead, the DRC Chassis stuck and Tmez cleared Bacon for the lead again and this time it counted. From that point forward Tmez put on a clinic showing the fast way around “The ‘Burgs” ¼ mile high banks as he used the horsepower of the Stenhouse built Dynotech Racing Engine to pull away from the field working traffic with a powerful finesse. By the time the checkers flew on the 30 lap event, Tmez had lapped the field up to 13th place and had a final margin of victory of 2.889 seconds.

Tmez of San Jose, CA said, “I’ve had a tough couple weeks in other cars since we won Eldora, so it feels good to be back in the Amati Racing #66 and beat all these guys who are at the top of the game. I have so many laps here, and thanks to Todd Keen for letting me race here so much that it felt good to be back at the Burg. (Crew chief) Donnie Gentry was not afraid to get it tight enough, and it was money from the start. It’s surreal; I’ve been coming to USAC shows for a few years and getting beat, and now I feel like I should be up there and I’ve got a car capable of winning these races.”

Tmez was only the second different driver to win back-to-back features in AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series this season and just the 12th driver to follow up his first career AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series feature win with his 2nd career feature victory in the very next race. It was also the Amati Racing, Inc. teams 4th win in the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series and 5th overall win on the 2015 season. It should also be noted that this was the 5th race with the combination of Tmez and Amati Racing Crew Chief Donnie Gentry and 3 of those times it has ended in victory lane.

The Amati Racing, Inc. team will now head to California for the $25k to win “20th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals” presented by All Coast Construction at Perris Auto Speedway in Perris, CA Nov. 12th – 14th. The team will also be at USA Raceway in Tucson, AZ Nov. 19th – 21st for the last 3 races of the 2015 AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series season. The Amati Racing, Inc. Team is sitting 11th in national point standings heading into these last 6 events of the season.

Amati Racing, Inc. would like to thank our fans and sponsors for their continued support: Marion Underground Construction, Zeller Construction, DMI Bulldog Rearends, Swindell Bleeders, AMSOIL, Karnes Signs, Dynotech Racing Engines and DRC Chassis. We’d also like to express our gratitude for the continued dedication and efforts of the entire Amati Racing, Inc. crew.
