Bill Simpson had a press conference on Thursday at his Lost Drive In Motorsports Park across from IRP, ORP.
I''ve heard reports on the radio and TV too.

Mitch Daniels was given a new IMPACT helmet for his Harley by Bill Simpson.

I'll post some photos once I figure how to do that.

Bruce Litton is right across the street to the west. So should be the place to be with Impact building their new headquarters there.

I'm sure a drag team or two will have their shop there.

Where I work that would be a violation of the Code of Conduct regarding Gratuities and Incentives.

Dang, now our government officials are in the back pocket of the racing safety industry. Helmet prices will never be the same!!:rolling

Mitch has brought more jobs to Indiana than anyone. I think he has done a great job trying to replace the jobs that have left the good ole U.S.A.

Man that sentence had Job in it alot!! Huh, Huh, Huh... I said JOB.

Not disputing what you posted Go Fast and certainly not making any political point or statement. Just found the quoted sentence interesting and did a bit of research.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor (Bureau of Labor Statistics) data for July '08, Indiana ranks 15th highest in the nation with a 6.3% unemployment rate. This compared to a historical low of 2.6% in Apr. '99.

Again, I'm not politicing here, just responding to your post. Has nothing to do with an IMPACT helmet or Harley which, after all, is the point of D.O.'s thread. :checkered:

Greetings from the great state of cheese!

Weather is great and I am ready for some midget racing!

I have a great thought that involves the minimum price a government official can accept and not exceed the law, undocumented workers making helmets which help keep the price below the threshold....oops that's not Impact is it? That's the other helmet company. :O:

Yeah, we have a ton of unemployment in Indiana. And it sucks. Indiana has long been a state where the majority of jobs were in the manufacturing sector. Otis Elevator, GE, Westinghouse, RCA, Allison, Olin Brass, Delphi and the list goes on of companies that have shut down or moved to another country. NAFTA has had a huge impact on our state. If not for the few companies that Mitch has coerced into setting up shop in Indiana, the unemployment rate would or could be much worse.

I am with you... not politicing either. Just my opinion.

I truly do not believe that Mitch would be influenced by the gift of a helmet either.

I might be looking for another job someday soon. It is up in the air but doesn't look good.

I have considered seeking employment in the racing industury before but life took me in other directions.

I am not sure about how much Mitch has helped but do know how much NAFTA has hurt, especially in Indiana.

I get tired of hearing how free trade helps the U.S. when in fact most of us would be ok with that if it were FAIR trade. Something needs to be done. But it is hard to fix something quickly that has been coming for 15 years or more.
