Is that the same car he still runs at Springfield & DuQuoin, or is that a pavement car? Thanks Rich

The car pictured here is a pavement car, and looks like a Beast... Nowadays he's running his own GRP Chassis, on dirt, anyway. Not sure if he's still doing any pavement...

Yes, that was in 1997, it is a Beast combo car. It is Not the car that we won Nazareth with or 2nd at IRP. This car is the car that Russ won DuQuoin with that same year (1997). Russ now runs a GRP Chassis. He does not run the pavement Champ cars, dirt only.
Thanks for the memories... |

My Uncle, Bill Mortland, owned it and the driver was Perry Tripp out of Fredericktown, MO. My avatar picture was taken at St. Charles Speedway in St. Charles, MO in 1988, which was the first race my uncle ran as a car owner. Thanks for the interest :O::thumb |

...and a side note, Steve, we sold the car back to Harry's son Lance a few years ago after my brother passed away. I understand the car has been restored and has been to a few of the oldtimer deals at Sun Prairie.
I'd love to see a picture of it nowadays. |
