The 2014 Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW Simpson World Indy Rookie of the Year Jason Fuller is set for the 2015 campaign for the USSA Sprint Car Championship. Prior to 2014 Fuller had never competed in a pavement sprint car without a wing.

“Our whole team faced a huge learning curve when we took the wing off. Not only did I have to learn to race without the wing, the crew had to learn all of the significant changes that needed to be made to the car when there’s no wing,” Fuller explained. “I’m amazed how much running without the wing has helped me as a driver. We put the wing back on and went to New Paris last year and set a new track record!” Fuller elaborated

For the 2015 season Fuller and his team are committed to compete with the best in non-wing pavement sprint car racing. Fuller says his crew is ready as well, “At the season finale at Anderson last year our crew really came of age. We got tangled up in some bumping and broke a shock. Nobody quit, nobody gave up and everybody went balls to the wall to get me back in the race.” Fuller would eventually claim the 8th position in that 50-lap race.

Fuller and his crew are also looking ahead to the 67th Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW-GM. “We had never run the Pay Less Little 500 before and tried to approach it like just another race. My dad and I were watching all the teams move their stuff into the infield, the pre-race festivities and the huge crowd come in and said ’This is something really special’ “ Fuller commented. “Now that we have been through it once, sweating the bumping process, pit stops and the big picture of the race we hope to really do better this year.”

Some of the race fan comes out in Fuller when he talks about the Pay Less Little 500, “I get to go to the Little 500 and run against all the great drivers I saw on Thursday Night Thunder growing up and that is just cool!”

The 2015 Sprint Car Challenge Series season the Fuller number 9 sprint car will feature sponsorship from Landrum Spring, Shelter insurance, Gaerte Engines, Hoosier Racing Tire, Win Smith Racing Enterprises, Eddie Sachs Racing, TW Metals, Twisted Graphics, Art’s Radiator, Joe’s Racing Products and RJ Hall Racing.

Fuller also had a word for the men and Women of the UAW, sponsor of the Sprint Car Challenge Series. “I really appreciate what the UAW is doing for the series and for us all with the Buy American campaign. Even their hats are made in America.”

The Sprint Car Challenge Series Kicks-off the 2015 racing Season at Anderson Speedway with the Glen Niebel Classic. Practice is scheduled to begin at 3 PM on Saturday April 25 with each division getting one hour of track time. Qualifying will go off at 5:30 with racing scheduled to start at 7:00 with the ARCA/CRA Super Series cars 125-lap race followed by the Glen Niebel Classic 100 Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW race.
