FRIDAY’S KOKOMO MIDGET GRAND PRIX RAINED OUT; SATURDAY “ON”

Extremely wet grounds and flooding have forced a cancellation of Friday’s opening night of the 2015 Kokomo Midget Grand Prix Honda USAC National Midget event at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway.

Favorable forecasts are prevalent for Saturday’s scheduled race at the quarter-mile dirt oval and that event remains on the calendar.

The Kokomo Midget Grand Prix serves as the opening event on USAC’s 2015 Honda National Midget calendar, which encompasses 14 different tracks in a half-dozen states. The series will also appear at Kokomo as part of the “Indiana Midget Week” in mid-June.

Not trying to be negative, But if they don't plan on running both shows. Either a double header sat or sat and sun. I think they screwed themselves out of both car count and fans to only the ones committed to USAC points.

I dont agree at all, those traveling long distances wouldnt be able to stay Sunday anyway. Plus they may get a few POWRi cars on Saturday. I cant see many travelers coming to run the lower $ show and leaving without a shot at the big $. JMO

I Believe there is a powri race on sat in Illinois as well. I could be wrong I really haven't paid much attention lol. Needless to say I hope they can get it in..we have gotten a ton of rain the last 2 days in the area. Hopefully we don't get much tonight.

I don't think it will hurt. Last year this show was not well attended even with good weather on Friday and Saturday. I would bet the crowd would be even less on Sunday. The average St Louis area racer would not come anyway.

Think he meant the USAC purse vs Powri's
I meant the chance to get two USAC payouts vs one.
