What's the best brake fluid to use??

I use dot 3 synthetic and blead it out on a regular basis

I really like motul 600. Good dry boiling point and a really good wet boiling point. I figure unless u bleed them every race some water will find it way in.

Have to be careful with synthetics because they can damage the seals. The higher the boiling point the dryer the fluid is. Brake fluid is constantly trying to draw in moisture. Once a bottle has been opened and the longer it sits on the shelf...the lower the boiling point.

Pretty much all of the brands are great. You need to pick a boiling point that meets your needs and bleed on a regular basis. If it's a night when you've used heavy braking in the heat or semi; it's a good idea to bleed before the feature. Keeping the opened bottle in a dry area with the lid on tight will keep the boiling point higher for a longer period of time.

Castrol makes a real good brake fluid, should be gold or platinum colored for what it costs, but it does hold up, I think most of the Cup guys use it, that's where I get mine, but I did have to buy a qt once, that'll make ya dizzy/er! We also used Harley Davidson blue for a long time, but a pint of that'll chill ya also! I just ckd, looks like we're using Wagner "Severe Duty" now, which has done a great job, a non-synthetic fluid, available almost anywhere, has a DOT rating of 5.1, and a 500f/260c temp rating. As I recall, the Blue Harley stuff was silicone, and trying to bleed it in cold weather, produced what looked like nylon string out of the bleeders, not so good! Bob
