I just discovered that Haubstadt is running a MSCS sprint, POWRi midget and modified race on Sept. 26th, which is the same night at the USAC Four Crown at Eldora which I traditionally attend. I believe this is the first time I've experienced this dilemma. It surely can't help the already slim midget turnout at Eldora.

I think these tracks need to think a little more when putting out schedules with conflicts like that. Someone is going to lose, and it's probably going to be Haubstadt, especially with sprint cars. There are plenty of dates available, and scheduling a conflict like that is just plain dumb. I'm sure the same people who always go to Haubstadt will, but you'll still find all the USAC guys at Eldora, obviously.

I wouldn't be so sure that Haubstadt will lose. I'm betting TSS still gets a decent turnout with sprints, especially from some of the smaller budget teams. Why go over to the Big E when you can go be competitive in Haubstadt. The midgets already struggled numbers wise last year for the 4-Crown so basically just expect the same this year. POWRi will be just fine like they always are that night.

Either way, there's always going to be overlap. You can't expect one series or track to hold off on a race just because another is racing at the same time. Maybe if USAC was more willing to get together with some of these smaller or rival series more often there could be better planning on both parts. I know were seeing it this year with WoO and what not and they did it with POWRi last year at Kokomo so not sure why there's not more of that happening. It certainly wouldn't hurt the sport.

Haubstadt had races on the 13th and 27th and Eldora ran on the 19th (WoO) 20th and 21st (USAC). Rained Saturday night and they finished up on Sunday.

It seems as though powri isn't co sanctioning with USAC this year..more so powri has races in Illinois the same nights as the kokomo grand Prix.. At least not schedule shows against each other..but I guess you only get so many weekends right?

Scheduling isn't as easy as many of you think, juggle 20 events, while working with 20 other promoters trying to achieve a common goal..

Only one guarantee, not everyone will be happy.

Haubstadt had one of the best races of the year when they had 15 cars. I believe that was when Ballou and Cummins drag raced to the flag out of turn four with Ballou winning by an inch. A bigger conflict for me is with the King's Royal being the same night as Haubstadt's Sprintweek show. It was very convenient to hit Lawrenceburg on the way home from Eldora the last few years for Sprintweek. Just one of life's minor problems.
