If the voting was, in fact, subjective, then Chris Bell and Donny Schatz wouldn't have less than 10% of the votes that Robert Ballou has received.
Sure, Ballou had a good year, winning the Ovals & 2 Sprintweek shows, but I'd bet he would trade his 2014 accomplishments with either Bell or Schatz... in a heartbeat.
People who voted for most of those drivers should be ashamed of themselves. Driver of the Year? Those drivers themselves would probably tell you that their names should not be mentioned in such conversation.
