A long time friend to west coast sprint car participants and fans passed away. She was still "into sprint car racing" at the age of 95. I'm glad to be able to say I knew and had great respect for her life long contributions to sprint car racing. My condolences to her family.

The first time we encountered Evelyn Pratt was at the 1985 Western World. We heard this booming voice over the infield announcing system telling the boys to get in their cars and push out. She was a no nonsense woman who was respected wherever she was officiating. She was a grand lady and will be remembered and sorely missed. Keep those boys on their toes until we join you at the great speedway in the sky. May you rest in peace, Evelyn!
