BIG JUMP IN BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS PURSE!

(Perris, CA, August 6, 2014) Hard as it is to believe, America’s premiere traditional sprint car race, the 19th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals presented by All Coast Construction, is only three months away and promoter Don Kazarian is pleased to announce a hefty increase in the race purse. The total purse is over $91,000.00 with the winner taking $20,000.00. The race will pay $1,000.00 to start.

America’s premiere traditional sprint car race, the Oval Nationals is also the biggest motorsports event in Riverside County. This year’s edition will feature the USAC West Coast and Southwest Sprint Cars on November 6th and the USAC Amsoil National and CRA Sprint Cars on November 7th and 8th. The PAS Senior Sprints and California Lightning Sprint Cars will also be in action on the 7th and 8th.

The $20,000.00 winner’s share of the purse from the 40-lap main event on November 8th is up from the $15,000.00 it paid to win in 2013. The total purse for the 410 portion of the show and the entry blank are posted at the end of this press release.

In addition to Saturday’s big money payday, Friday’s preliminary main will pay $5,000.00 to win and $500.00 to start. The total purse is $91,115.00 for the two nights of racing. A separate purse will be announced for the Thursday night 360 portion of the program featuring the USAC West Coast and Southwest Sprint Car Series.’

“This is great news for drivers and fans alike,” promoter Don Kazarian said with a grin. “This will once again elevate the Oval Nationals into one of if not the best paydays in traditional sprint car racing and it should add some more top drivers to what already is a superstar field. It is a win win-win situation for everyone involved. The racing at the Oval Nationals is always off the hook and this should make it even better as hard as that is to believe. There is so much prestige associated with winning the Oval Nationals from the bragging rights to the much sought after eagle trophies to the winning owner & driver and the winning crew chief gets the Ray Scheetz Award. Now throw in a minimum of $20,000.00 for the win on the final night.”

The jump in the purse comes from presenting sponsor All Coast Construction.

“Mike Grosswendt, who owns All Coast Construction, is probably more passionate about 410 sprint car racing than anyone I know,” Kazarian said. “His voice exudes his love of the sport when you talk to him. He called and said he wanted to bump the purse up for the Oval Nationals and he jumped in with both feet. This means a lot to everyone involved from the drivers to the fans and everyone in between. This is a USAC National Competition for Non Wing Sprint Cars. Amsoil USAC/CRA and USAC National points will be awarded both nights. Tires: Hoosier 105/16-15 Medium is the only approved right rear tire with the following exception - Emergency Tire 105/18-15 Hard. (Emergency Tire may only be introduced at the discretion of USAC Officials). All other corners are open.Weight: 1325 lbs with driver and equipment.Mufflers: Mufflers are mandatory. Mufflers must not exceed 95 DBA at 100’ radius.
Safety: One way radios are MANDATORY. Rock screens and USAC approved head and neck restraint devices are recommended.
All other rules will be governed by the USAC National rulebook.
