Are there any truck or car dealers in the state of indiana on this board? Or anybody who works for the DMV? I am having a huge problem here in Missouri due to a mistake that apparently happened in the Indiana DMV 7 years ago.

My business has owned a Freightliner truck since 2002...we sold it yesterday. When the buyer went to our DMV to transfer the title he was told there is a title in Indiana from 2007 that has the same VIN number and that he can't transfer the title or license the truck until that gets straightened out.

It will take 10 business days to even get the ball rolling through the Indiana DMV.. go online, fill out a title history form, then wait for them to deal with it. They will not even begin the conversation with us because we aren't listed on the erroneous title.

If it was a problem in Missouri, a Missouri dealer could do a search on the title to find out whats up. Since it is an Indiana DMV issue, an Indiana dealer would be able to do some looking and see what the deal is.

Clearly somebody in the Indiana DMV punched the wrong button on something totally unrelated to us 7 years ago and now we can't sell something we have owned, licensed, insured and permitted for 12 years.

If anybody out there in IOW land is willing or able to do any checking to help me possibly speed this mess up I would be forever indebted.
