I just wanted to make sure everyone knew of the rule change on the rear bumpers will be enforced at the ORP Race this Thursday. I would hate to see someone make the effort to race and not be allowed because they were unaware of the rule change.
New Rule: All rear bumpers must be a multiple tube, basket style bumper constructed of SAE 4130 steel tubing with a minimum 1.0 inch O.D. and 0.083 0.095 inch wall thickness. ( See illustration # 10 ) Rulebook: http://www.usacracing.com/assets/fil...ebook/apdc.pdf |

Hey Mark are you sure that rule applies to Pavement. When I talked to Jason McCord back in April he told me that the dirt cars had to have a basket and a minimum of two braces in between the duel rails and no stainless rear bumpers anymore they had to be a minimum 1" o.d. and .095 wall thickness made out of chromoly tubing only. I will call him Monday morning to make sure of this but that is what I was told back in April.

I think you're right Bill. At least I hope so. The bumpers that you describe are the ones we bought.

Ours was stainless so we knew we had to buy a new one before Richmond.
You guys are probably right- I am pretty new to this whole thing and just wanted to make sure nobody showed up with the wrong bumper. USAC allowed the old bumpers for Richmond but said the new ones would be mandatory for ORP. Bill, who is going to be driving the 92's? can you tell us please? |
