Joey Greening finally ended a long streak of bad luck, by picking up his first victory at Gas City in the Honda USAC Ignite Midwest Dirt Midget Series!
Greening took the lead from Austin Nemire on lap 6, and never looked back as the race went green to checkered!
Gage Walker, who was honored along with the Gas City Champions, worked his way up to 2nd from the 6th starting spot.
Walker came into the night with the Championship already clinched, and finished the last race of the season strong, by almost passing Greening coming to the checkered flag.
Adam Thomason had his best finish of the year coming across the line 3rd, Cooper Clouse 4th, and Austin Nemire came home 5th.
Walker was followed in the point chase by Cooper Clouse, Austin Nemire, Greening, and Toby Alfrey rounded out the top 5.
The final Honda Ignite Midwest Pavement race takes place October 12th at Columbus Motor Speedway. Cooper Clouse is very close to clinching that championship, but 2nd place points contender Wil Raber, still has a shot. Nemire, who is 3rd in points, also has a shot at Raber in 2nd.
The race at Columbus will be run with the National Pavement Midgets, so mark it on your to do list!
