The inaugural championship of the USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW will be decided on Saturday October 5 on the high banks of Anderson Speedway. When Aaron Pierce, Tony Hunt and Chris Neunschwander square off for 50 laps they will finish the battle at the same track it started on in April.
Pierce takes a slim 28 point lead over Hunt into the UAW Presents American Cancer Society Making Strides to End Breast Cancer “Paint the Night Pink” Championship Night event. Pierce has won at Anderson twice already in 2013, taking the Glen Niebel Classic and the USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series race on September 21. Hunt led the point race going into the September 21 race when a fifth place finish allowed Piece to slip by into the point lead. Neunschwander jumped to the third position on the strength of a strong performance in qualifying and his strong second place finish on 9/21. Neunschwander sits just 75 points off the lead ready to take advantage of any slip by Pierce and Hunt. The USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW race is a part of huge night of racing at Anderson Speedway. The USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series, Anderson Speedway fan favorites McGunegill Late Models, NASH FM Thundercars, Front Wheel Drive Oval, Front Wheel Drive Figure 8, Thunder Roadsters, Street Stocks and the Legend Cars will all join the Sprint cars on track. Gates open at 2:00 PM with racing action starting at 5:00. |
