We decided to go with this track to create a race on neutral ground.......a track none of us has been on. Makes for a level playing field for all. Plus it seems like a really nice facility that is more centrally located for a majority of the Lightning Sprints in the Midwest. 80 miles west of I-70 and right off the highway. Oh.......Banked quarter mile if anyone is interested.
Speaking of interest.........getting some really good feedback from racers planning on traveling and attending. Having a race with $750 to win the night before should entice some travelers!! Anyway....we are enthused by our responses and look forward to a good turnout.
Mark mentioned we are combining motor rules with MMSA's motor rules. Going to give this a shot for this one race and to compare and learn something for discussions when the "rules meeting" happens. We will check for bore/stroke, compression max. of 240# and fuel. As with MMSA, a borescope will be used as necessary. NO AFTERMARKET PARTS internally. We recommend each participant has a spec sheet for the motor in their car. Weights will be the standard MALS weights. Just remember, the older 1200cc motors and STOCK ZX-12's are at 1025#. Stock 1000cc.....925#. No tire rules. No adjustable anything in the cockpit except for the wing slider.
We really want this last MALS race to close out our successful season with even greater success. Mark is going to post the scheduled pay out tonight. As a reminder........First 5 that are registered and make the A feature: $100 mileage pay for over 500 miles one way (google earth) and $50 mileage pay for over 250 miles one way (google earth). You could be registered out of the top five but still get the money if you make the A and the guys before you don't make the A.
Checking on raceceivers requirements and will let everyone know. More information will be forwarded as it becomes available. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Uhhhh............Moron me posted the wrong weights for the cars. Per the established MALS rules: 1000cc motors per rules (gas or alky).......925#, Stock ZX-12's.....1050#, Older open 1200cc........925#
Reminder...........this race is "sorta" a combination of MALS and MMSA motor rules as stated but take note of the motors that that have been temporarily banned for our competition. All the rules will be revisited and possibly revised after the suggested "rules meeting" this winter.
BTW...........raceceivers are not required at Montgomery Motorsports Speedway.

Sounds good Andy,
I also want to let everyone know Mid-America Lightning Sprints presented by Jayhawk Millwright Does NOT have any membership or pill draw fee. Pay for your pit pass and race!
We do line everyone up for the heats from a pill draw (no charge) Then the top 2-3 from each heat, depending on car count will come back after their heat and redraw for the feature starting order. Everyone else will line up as they finished their heat.
