Went to Lawrenceburg last nite, and just wanted to say what a great nite it was. First it was a regular show with 27 sprint cars. Awesome ! Second, a GREAT rendition of the Nation Anthem. Loved the trumpet Rudy. Third, congradulations to Joss Moffett for an Awesome win. And most importantly my prayers for John Race who was injured in the sprint in the B main. A Great job Lawrenceburg Safety crew. A GREAT place to spend every saturday nite. Tim

For once in my life, I can honestly say I made the right call last night. My first choice was going to be the PowrI midgets at Macon with a stop off today at THAT for the Sumar Classic. Mother Nature took care of Macon early on. She also finished off the weekend with another rain out, this time at Action Track.

So at that point I thought about Lincoln Park for the USAC sprint show and then on to Terre Haute for today's race.

After looking at a number of weather forecasts, all of which I might add were different, I decided to forgo that idea and head to da Burg. What a great call that was.

Rudy & the gang had the track prepped well and with ominous clouds hanging in the air, I wasn't sure that anything race wise was possible. I shouldn't have worried at all. 27 sprinters were on hand to provide the action. A late arriving crowd was rewarded for make the trip out.

However, before any racing took place, Dave had lined up a gentleman to play the Star Spangled Banner on his trumpet. The Navy color guard provided the honors for the opening ceremonies. A great way to start off the night. Thanks Dave for a great job and I wish more tracks would get the local talent to do a live version every once in a while.

As others have mentioned in another thread, the track was lightning fast and the guys didn't disappoint. A full night of racing was held and we were on our way out of the front gate early. So early in fact, we made it home before midnight and we almost never have that option when we hit either, Lawrenceburg, Lincoln Park, Waynesfield, or Eldora, our Saturday night hot spots.

I also hope that John Race is okay after a nasty looking ride in the B main. Always glad to see the safety crew take their time and provide the drivers with top notch care. A big thanks also to Dave for the discounted admission with HARF, DARF & BARC as well I believe. It is always greatly appreciated.

The only downer of the evening was missing the Mayor of Greendale, royal emperor and head hog of Section A, Marvin Q. Fishburger. Rumor has it that he was off giving some woman away. Go figure? His chief deputy, Gregg filled in admirably though and the nights activities were held without missing a beat. No riots or fights to report as a good time was had by all.

Mike

Be nice to people on the way up. You might need them on the way down. Jimmy Durante

Thanks guys! Our team, and racing family have put together 4 weeks of great racing in a row together now, I am proud of everyone involved. I talked to John Races wife today and John is doing fine, he has a follow up doctor visit tomorrow and should fully recover in the very near future.
Until the wheels fall off, and I do something wrong, Thanks for all the kind words.
Sincerely, Dave Rudisell

Why do you want to see a video of someone getting hurt? Unless you're a sprint car frame designer I see no need in seeing the video.

I sure as heck don't want to see that again, In person was scary enough.

However, I think it would be a perfect example of why containment seats should be Manditory. Even the low budget racer could skip a week and purchase one, It might save their life.

Might be stepping on a few toes here but I'd rather have you pissed at me and still around than not seeing you at the track again.

We are thinking about John and praying for him! Please make him get a full containment ButlerBuilt seat before he gets back in that race car and a head & neck restraint if he doesn't already have one! For John, and all my fellow competitors, please get S.T.I.D.A.! It's the best insurance for a racer at an affordable price!

Get well soon, John!
