I find it kind of funny that we recieved 2" of snow and every school in central Ohio is closing early. I remember back in school, we never got sent home early due to weather and this snow fall was perfect for donuts in the parking lot after class until we'd get detention for doing them... I started this post to give credit to my bus driver growing up and I know some of you would like her. When we would go home in heavy snow at our regular time, she would just tell us to chill out and be good because she was going to have to "get up on the wheel" to get us home on time........lol

At our place in PA where the kids go to school they had two days off this fall for snow that never even arrived. At our place up north it snows for days on end, sometimes two inches a hour. The kids enjoy it and cant wait to ride their snowmobiles to school, where its actually encouraged. I know of one young man that rides over 13 miles into school everyday, one way.

I would guess it may have something to do with some schools building days into the schedule so they have some flexibility in meeting the state's minimum school hour requirements.

My son's school closed 1.5 hours early today. Funning this is that the snow did not even start until 30 minutes after he would have gotten home on a normal day. Lots of parents had to leave work early today for no reason.

We had those days built in as well. We always joked that they wouldn't turn us loose is because they would get a pay cut for not having us there all day, every day. I think we had 4 days per year for weather problems built in.

I had 8 mini bulks that I had to deliver, 1 each the 1st 3 stops & 5 the last stop. Down old county & township roads. Pretty scary when you are out there & it's still snowing & you can't tell where that road & ditch meet.
