For all of the folks out there that are looking for the opportunity to own and promote their own race track, there is another one for sale. I drove past the Union County Speedway near Liberty, IN yesterday and the signage is up.

Though they didn't run many open wheel shows, this race track is really a diamond in the rough. With some TLC this place could become one of the really good places with the right person running it.

I was thinking that this is the perfect opportunity for the experts on track prep, carry in coolers, limited class show, inexpensive concessions, shows ending by 9:30 PM, etc...to step up and show us all how it should be done.

It should allow someone the opportunity to become rich over night also since many of the posts on here seems to indicate what a lucrative deal race promoting really is.

Now back to reality. Sad to see that another track is on the block. Even though it ran mostly mud cabs it could be a very good opportunity. The only late model dirt track in Indiana that has run on Friday night.

Mike

Baer Field in Ft. Wayne is struggling, too. Maybe someone can negotiate a two for one deal.

You sure it wasn't for one of the houses that are positioned next to the racetrack? Anyone know where to find info. about the track being for sale?

Bearfield in FTW won't be for sale but promoter has health and age issues so has officially retired. They now need a promoter.

mudpacker, i don't think there is an expert that can tackle this place. used to race there in mid 80's so i know the place. no matter what the purse they can't draw a good field of cars. even with sherman armstrong promoted money they couldn't do any good. the new bleachers and tower are nice...

Unfortunately some of these tracks are pricing themselves out of getting sold. They must think there is gold mixed into the clay.

Also don't forget that Gas City is for sale per their website and the future is unclear at Paragon.

Agreed on the new stands and tower are a big improvement, and I too have raced there many times, before, and after, but what ever made someone decide to build a race track on top of that hill is beyond me, there ain't a flat place anywhere, if you're working on anything, and lay even a hammer down, you have to put your foot on it, to keep it from ending up down by the highway, I guess years ago, it was just full of rocks, but the times I went there, they weren't a problem, it was the fact there was no flat places to pit, not to mention, just getting up the hill, to where the track actually was, if a guy could just take a big dozer, and take everything down around it, to track level, that might get some action back in there, the view was great tho!
