CARBER HEATS UP AS FALL BREAKS

Pipersville, PA - October 11, 2012 - Brian Carber continued his late-season storm on Saturday night with a fourth place finish in the RaceSaver Sprint Series Keystone Challenge 25-lap A-main event at Port Royal Speedway.

The driver of the Carber Motorsports No. 8c Carber’s Lawncare Maxim Chassis was coming off of last weekend’s impressive victory at New Egypt Speedway, which was his third RaceSaver Sprint Series win of the season. The 18 year-old found himself in victory lane after winning his heat race, and charging through the field in the feature.

In the Keystone Challenge at Port Royal, Carber, once again, methodically worked his way through the 26-car field. After coming through the B-main, Brian started the No. 8c in the 23rd position on the 1/2-mile dirt oval. By the half way mark, he had already driven his way to 7th place. Carber soon overtook Matt Mountz on lap 18 to break into the top-five, and continued on to pass Kyle Reinhart for fourth place in the closing laps. The third generation driver ended his impressive run in fourth place, and earned his 13th top-five finish of the year.

“We had an awesome run tonight. We didn’t get off to the start we wanted to in the heat race, but we worked all night on the car and tried some things that really paid off.” Carber continued, “I had a lot of fun out there tonight, and I would love to come back here with a bigger engine program sometime. I am just trying to do my best to make a good impression since you never know who’s watching in PA sprint country.”

A good impression is definitely what Carber made this past weekend in his 19th start of the season. By passing 19 cars in 23 laps without any cautions to help, he was soon to be the fan favorite on the night. Even though the blue and white Maxim Chassis was one of the quickest on the track, it was a slow ride for Carber back through the pits with fellow drivers and crew members stopping him to congratulate him on the impressive charge through the field.

Next Saturday, Carber will return to action at Penn Can Speedway for the Clash at the Can, where he finished third in 2011. Be sure to follow Brian on twitter @CarberRacing for live updates as he closes out his 2012 racing campaign.
