No better way to return to supermodified racing in your home state than winning the Star Classic.

At lap 60 the top five Eric Lewis, Johnny Benson, Russ Wood, Mark Sammut, and John Gambuti were pulling away from the field.

At lap 82 Johnny Benson Breaks, bringing out the caution just after Wood takes over the lead. Locke, Rayvals and Duggan all retire from the race at this point. Benson doesn't make it back out on the track before the white flag flys.

Witkum spins a few laps later, Gosek goes to the pits and returns to the track before white flag is displayed. Johnny Benson is able to rejoin the field a few laps down.

Lap 98 sees Mark Sammut blow the motor just after taking over the second spot, the red flag comes out at this point and teams are allowed to refuel the cars. Top four at this point are Russ Wodd, John Gambuti, Lou Cicconi and Eric Lewis.

Lap 108 sees Mike Lichty spin collecting Timmy Jedrzejek and John Gambuti, Gambuti pits while running 3rd his tail section was coming loose before the accident.

Lap 137 Sanborn spins, Wood has a commanding lead at this point and Witkum is on a charge up to third.

Russ Wood wins in the 29, over Eddie Witkum in the Lane 97, Lou Cicconi 75, Eric Lewis 28, Jeff Abold 05, Mike Ordway Sr. 61, Tim Ice 65, John Gamuti 14, Joe Gosek 00, Dan Bowes 18, Jamie Timmons 27, Timmy Jedrzejek 32. Don't have full finish obtained info from ISMA twitter earlier today.
