currently running a 1000cc mini sprint on a 1/4 mile track.... recently have something set up locally with some 1/8 mile and 1/6 mile carting tracks they want us to run a weekend wingless show fri sat and sun ... its a awesome opportunity but many of us have never ran our cars wingless dont want to turn the offer down but want to look good with decent racing not a demo derby.... from what ive seen many real midgets seem to run coilover front and 90 % of our cars run torsion front is this going to be a problem? i have parts to convert mine to coil front but some of us dont... also suspension set up, wheel placement, stagger, ride heights etc any info will help ... typically now we run about 6 inches of stagger and keep the left rear tucked in close to the frame as possble. usually running a 82 inch right rear and a 74-76 left rear... is it similar set up ? to get the car to turn i would imagine more stagger maybe lead the right side of the axles? the one track is very similar to the chili bowl or battle at the center midget show

It's a bit different, but we run wingless micro sprints, and also winged in the same night sometimes.
It all depends on the type of car, but no matter what way you look at it, the car is going to lose side bite, and also be much looser. Torsion bars up front aren't a problem, you may have to change them, but won't be a problem to use them instead of coils. On our micros we run the RR out a bit more just to keep it from getting on the right rear as much, but we run more LR weight as well.

You definately do not need to change to coil front. We have guys who switch between wing and non-wing aall the time and they all run an all torsion cars. We have never run wingless, but in talking with the different drivers the changes are in the bars, shocks, blocking, and stagger. Generally they will run heavier front bars and softer rear bars to keep the weight on the rear. Stagger is maybe same if not less and this is because without the wing you will be looser thus you will want to lessen the stagger. I have seen up to an inch or more less stagger. Blocking the front a little higher and rear lower, again to get weight on the rear tires for traction. I do not think there are big changes for shocks, but some run a different shock setup but with the other adjustments you could run the same shock package as with wings. Without wings you definately are trying setup stuff similair to a midget.

You're probably going to run the RR out farther on spacing, LR in to the torsion arm, block the car lower at least in the rear. You'll probably have to play with bars & turns in & out to find what's comfortable

awesome thanks for the advice it will help a ton , what about gearing right now we run a 14 tooth front and a 50 or 51 rear on the bigger 1/4 mile and 3/8 mile, what do you suggest for starting point or base line on a 1/5 & 1/6 mile wingless... very similar to deming speedway
