Check out the video below for extended highlights from one of the closest finishes of the year on the West Coast. In USAC/CRA action on August 11th Danny Sheridan dueled Mike Spencer in the closing laps at Santa Maria Speedway before beating him at the flag. The last lap speaks for itself.

That was a he11 of a race!! 2012 has been the year of wild finishes here in Indiana. Looks like it been that way out there, too. Great camera work! It makes it like you're right there. You've got to give it to Sheridan. 9 times out of 10 when Spencer goes by you in the Chaffin car and starts to drive away, it's over and he's gone. On this night, Danny just decided that wasn't going to happen.

Great race. Interesting that the crowd was wearing heavy jackets in August.

Santa Maria is fairly close to the ocean. When the marine layer comes onshore it is damp and cool.
