Jacobs ladder angle?

I am running my chassis lower then I have ran it before and was measuring the angle of the straps on my Jacobs ladder and the top one was at 31deg and the bottom was at 25deg or so. I have 3 holes in my bird cages so I was able to get the angles even, about 29deg each by moving the point where the Jacob ladder attaches to the bird cage to the top hole. My question is as you adjust ride height is it important to keep the Jacob ladder angle as even as possible no matter what your ride height is or dont worry about jacob ladder strap angle and just adjust the jacob ladder according to how the car is reacting and track conditions?

JMHO, but you may be surprised at the results you get from this "adjustment", and it'll be interesting to hear what you find. I build all my cars, with the ladder tabs vertical, the top and bottom tabs on the chassis are different lengths, which keeps the ladder level, in the horizontal plane. Your tabs must be the same length, whick makes them angle out, at the top, and makes the ladder angle up, which should make it loose, and bringing it down on the birdcage, to a more level angle, should make it tighter. Keep us posted, it'll be interesting what you find. Bob!

I would think this is going to create a cause/effect between forward bite and side bite. Also, did you measure the angles with you in the car?

Your rear roll center stays in the same place relative to the frame no matter what the ride height is set at...the ladder straps are made to keep the axle centered regardless of what angle they are at....but by changing the pick-up point where the ladder meets the birdcage you are changing the rear roll center drastically...level with the axle is neutral...above the axle centerline will free up the rear and below the axle centerline will tighten the car up considerably.....If I was you I would go back to the middle setting to gauge how the ride height adjustment affected the handling...if not you will never really know what did what because you made 2 adjustments at once....the angles of the straps are not crucial as long as the straps are equal length....those strap angles are constantly changing as the suspension works, car leans over, driver gets in or out, etc etc so trying to make them level when the car is sitting still really has no bearing on anything else.
