Forecast calls for chance of Isolated AM T Storm followed by Clearing and warm with a slight chance. Always a popular Program and there isn't much else going on. It'll be nice to be warm vs last years Low 40s.

The 2012 Florence Speedway season begins this weekend as we host the 36th Annual Spring 50! This early season race pays $5,000 to win for Late Models and has become a favorite of many in the industry. The action gets underway Saturday at 6pm with Hot Laps, followed by qualifying for the Late Models. Then at 7:30 racing action begins culminating with the 50 Lap Spring 50 Feature. Also on the card will be a $1,000 to win program for the Modified division. For more information, check out the sidebar or go to florencespeedway.com.
Come out this weekend and help the Tornado Relief efforts

As a part of this weekend's 36th Annual Spring 50 weekend, Florence Speedway is pleased to announce that we have teamed up with the Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission to help the victims of the recent tornados that ravaged the area on March 2nd. While Florence Speedway was spared any damage from the storms, many of our neighbors were not. The NKCAC has been working with tornado victims since the storms hit and are helping families put their lives back together. The NKCAC will have booths set up at the speedway the night of the Spring 50 and, during intermission, drivers will be going through the stands to help in the collection of funds. All funds collected will go directly to storm victims in Northern Kentucky, so come out on March 17th and help us help those who are in need.

I was going to make the trip, but a 50% chance of rain scares me. Looks like I'll just grab a 6-pack and watch some basketball instead. Given my history of making racing plans on weather, that probably means the weather will be gorgeous and you all will have a spectacular night of racing.
