I just saw on ESPN that Newman-Haas Racing will not be fielding a car during the 2012 IndyCar season. They said that the lack of sponsorship was the cause. Sad to see this happen but with the economy the way it is, not surprised.

Really sad to see a team with that much history shut down. Mario basically put the two together. You knew when Paul passed and Carl's health got worse, that the end might come. Speed has a couple of good articles.

Final stats: 107 wins, 109 poles, eight championships and 29 years of racing

They actually fielded two cars, Servia in #2 and Hinchcliffe in #06. Hinch was rookie of the year.

A lot of tradition leaving.

Heard the real problem is what do we do with the large investment of the old cars. And invest in new chassis plus different new type of engines. They have made Indy car so expensive with the new so called leaders. Also that Dan Weldon was not honest with his testing of the new car. There are so many problems with the new car in testing that it is very scary. Maby so bad it cannot be cured.
