Congratulations to Jerry. Second in his heat and showed great control of the field in the feature. He was first in the orange #94 and Charles Davis Jr. second in the orange #50. See any trends here? Bud Kaeding 3rd from 7th (I think, couldn't hear the announcer with the lineup). The ASCS winged feature got off to a bad start with Shane Stewart in the #57 hitting the turn 1 wall a ton. They said he got out under his own power, but they took him to the hospital for observation. Sammy in his #1 took first from 4th starting spot, Johnny Herrera in his 45X took second from the 6th starting spot, and Donny Schatz was really, really impressive taking third from the 15th starting spot.

Bryan Hulbert is a good announcer, IMO. I remember last year or the year before when he was a guest announcer during one of their Chili Bowl prelim nights broadcast.

The first heat was a good preview of the feature. Hines 2nd to first, Ballou 1st to second, Levi 3rd from third, Herrera 4th from fourth, Bacon 5th from sixth. Talk about a loaded heat!

My congratulations to whoever made the decision to black flag Joey Saldana in the wing feature. In his heat he ignored a yellow flag and kept going around track full bore. In the feature, he ignored the red for Jack Dover and once again kept going full bore. Didn't appear to let off a bit even when he got to the first turn and Jack was sitting in the middle of 1&2 stopped. Fortunately, there was just enough room between Jack and the wall for Joey to blast by. As the gentleman sitting next to me correctly pointed out, it didn't help that the person on the flag stand didn't appear to wave the red flag and the lights are small and a few feet outside the track a little past the entrance to turn one. I would think, however, that the fact that everyone else was slowing and stopping might have been somewhat of a clue. We were very lucky that we didn't witness a serious crash. I hope there is some sort of logical explanation for this behavior.

Congratulations again to Tracy. Great job!
