Today marks the 34th anniversary of the loss of James McElreath during the running of a USAC sprint car race at Winchester Speedway. I'll never forget the accident that claimed that fine young man on that cold Sunday afternoon.

RIP, James

ron, i also remember this well. as soon as it happened i went and climbed on that old wood fence and lokked over before the crews got there. just can't beleive they pushed the car back in with a wrecker. i've never enjoyed watching a race at winchester ever since.....

We were there as well. Today's events in Vegas brought back some terrible memories. RIP James.
