How to guarantee a boring race

For example take the top three series. You have Indy Car which is a shell of it's former self, Grand Prix boring and Nascar. At least with nascar a piece of debri or whatever almost always causes a yellow with a few laps to go and makes it interesting.
You have qualifying which I love, nothing sounds better then a 410 qualifing, but how does it make sense if you want to put on a good race starting guys in order of their speed, inless of course its inverted. Whats being done now almost promises you a frieght train. I would make qualifying maybe even more important, wether it be by points, cash, whatever. Then start the fast guys in the back. If you cant move to the front, then so be it. I rant alot about a certain track (r.i.p) but one of the things that made it great was the fastest always started in the back, what a freakin show. |

i agree, this business of starting the fastest guys up front is crappy class warfare/ and is boring as hell/ illiminate time trials and race your way into the feature

How to guarantee a boring race?
Easy, go to a winged race in Southern Ohio at K-C Raceway or an OVSCA show. They time trial and put the fast guys up front. Saw an OVSCA show this year with 3 heats and a 25 lap feature and NEVER saw a pass for the lead all night. Top 6 ran 1-6 in feature without a pass also. This crap for the last few years helped me decide the time was right to form the BOSS non wing series in Ohio to bring back RACIN not Chasin. |

for a dirt race........Start hot laps too early. prep the track hard and super smooth. have an announcer with no personality who just spits out stats over a PA thats not loud enough to hear. Have a bunch of support classes that you don't care about. Put wings on the cars and engines in the rear and so much body panels you can't see the driver. Invert 6 or less in the heats. Populate the cars with drivers who pay for the ride. Do no interviews, take no intermission and do no introductions before the feature. Have the one spin and you're done rule. Don't sell beer and please get me out of there before 10pm. before I puke!!!
Unfortunately alot of tracks are just like this. |

I don't understand people. How can ANY race be boring? It's fast cars doing their thing! You guys aren't real race fans....Or you woudln't complain.

Fast cars does not equal good racing.....I'd rather watch kids quarter midget racing than watch a parade of fast, cookie-cutter NASCAR drivers running in circles, no racing there at all. Anyone that went to the Cup race at the KY Speedway knows what I am talking about....BORING!

Invert the whole field, Now that makes alot of sense???? Then you have nothing but sandbagging in qualifying. Been there and done that!
