Yesterday Jessica climbed behind the wheel of the 79 supermodified piloted this season by Brian Sobus at Oswego Speedway. During a test session yesterday with a wing atop the car Jessica turned consistent laps in the 16.8 second range. Very respectable for what I believe was her first time ever in a super.
Veteran Joe Gosek was turning laps in the low 17 second range on Hoosiers and Ray Graham Jr. was in the mid 17 second range on American Racers tires during a tire test also on Thursday. Which shows how respectable Jessica' s times were. Way to go Jessica! Could we see Jessica running a super full time in 2012? I sure don't have the answer to that question but it sounds like she proved yesterday she can wheel a supermodified around the "Steele Palace". So this one is for all the young ladies out there running TQ's, Midgets or Sprints aspiring to move up the open wheel ladder, stay dedicated to your sport and opportunities will find you. Make the most of those opportunities when you get the chance. We will have to wait and see if Jessica's run at Oswego yesterday was a one time thrill ride or it opens up a new opportunity for her.
