Who's going to L-Burg Saturday and who is making the trip to Peoria?
We'll be at L-Burg. Looks like a clear, cool night.....might need to throw the firepit and a bunch of wood in the trailer. |

I know of at least one AMSA regular that is and another that might be.......for a number of reasons we cannot, although it sounds like a cool event.

I hate to say it but I think you'll be lucky to get 15 minis at the burg with the Peoria race going on.

Phylo 82 it's called running for "perfect attendance award" we are out of school already and it feels great getting that off our back.

Yeah....I understand completely and I don't plan on doing that again. We have other reasons we can't go to Peoria besides points though, other things going on besides racing (if you can believe that

There are 3 cars that I know of that would normally be there but are either going to Peoria or shutting it down due to mechanical problems. We'll see, should be a good, clear night.....but it's going to be a cool evening at the track. |

Some of the AMSA members appreciate what Dr Bagnoli and AMSA have put together for a points fund. It is not all about perfect attendance but supporting the series that is great with taking care of their members. There is too much negativity with everyone. Mert and Jerry had done a wonderful job of putting together races and taking care of their members even when it is them using their own money just to keep AMSA going due to all the rain outs and races being cancelled after contracts were signed. What is it that is making everyone so down on this association. As we seen last weekend it was not the MMSA members supporting Bill but the majority of the cars there were normal AMSA members and Waynesfield drivers.
It is unfortunate that the Peoria race is the same night as the last race for AMSA. |

I am not being negative about the AMSA, we are members and try to run with them whenever possible. I'm pretty sure we have run every race they have had this year. That being said.....I just hate points racing. I promised myself after quarter midgets we would never get caught up in points racing again......it get's in the way of running the events you would like to run and having fun with it.
Just my point of view. I appreciate that the AMSA has put together a strong sponsorship for their points championship. It's just not my thing. |

The reason that we weren't at 35 is we were all worn out from trying to get that damn perfect attendance award and my wife said if I didn't get the pool closed up I couldn't go to Peoria. Im glad the other guys did go and I wish I could have been there. I swore 15 years ago I would never race for points again and some how got snokered into it, guess my body just felt so good I didn't know when to stop. I did have a good time! Raceing is a sport after all. If racing stops being fun I'm going to stop racing. I race where I get along and I guess that is where I'm at now. Not every one fits in any one mold and we are truly lucky to have two clubs to race with where we all have a better chance of fitting in and having fun. Remember Competition makes things better! And I think that is exactly what is happening now. Five years ago we weren't racing at Tulsa or Ft Wayne this year we are, things are getting better.
