But there is no rain behind the last wave...so as long as nothing fires up...it should be good I would think....it looks better than Indiana!

:confused:I spoke to Bill West this morning around 10:30 a.m. and they had not cancelled yet. Did not get much rain this morning but everything was still pretty soft from last weeks rain. He said he would decide by around 1p.m. so everyone would have enough time. Sun is out right now and radar looks good as long as we get no more storms popping up.

:greenflag: Just spoke with Bill West and Jacksonville is on for tonight. Still a chance of pop up storms until around 3 or so but looks better than it has. All of the other local tracks have cancelled so could be a good car count tonight. Hope there is 20 or so sprints. :thumb

Just called the speedway at 3:30 Central Daylight Time and they said they "absolutely" are on for tonight.

Jacksonville results from my hastily scribbled notes (sorry I don't know how to make it look professional like some of you). 16 sprints - #7X Joey Moughan (looked like K. Wissmiller's old car), 9 Jay Landoff, 10S Jeremy Standridge, 22 Bret Triplett, 23 Mitch Wissmiller, 29 Eddie Lynch, 47 Brett Samonds, 51 Mike Hess, 53 Matt Harms, 71 Chad Branson, 83 Chris Urish, 88 Terry Babb, 90 (no name on car, sounded like Patrick Budde when the 1st heat was sort of announced and someone else at feature time), 95 Tommy Rockwell, 98 J. C. Bland and 99 Kory Weyent. Drew for heat position and started feature accourding to heat finish.
Heat #1 - 1) Babb from 2d, 2) Hess from 3rd, 3) Weyent from pole, 4) Branson from 5th, 5) Lynch from 4th 6) Harms from 6th, 7) 90, 8) Landoff flipped Heat #2 - 1) Tripplett from pole, 2) Urish from 3rd, 3) Moughan from 7th, 4) Standridge from 6th 5) Bland from 4th; 6-8 left early and were Samonds, Rockwell and Wissmiller with problems. Feature (partial and completely unofficial) - 1) Moughan from 6th, 2) Weyent from 5th, 3) Rockwell from 14th, 4) Babb from pole (tried hard to make the the top work but couldn't), 5) Standridge from 8th, 6) Branson from 7th, 7) Urish from 3rd, 8) 90, Landoff flipped again and Hess, Bland, Samonds, Harms and Wissmiller all exited early. Sorry if I mispelled someone's name or made other errors. Since the track is less than an hour from my home, I hope to see more nonwings come over to beautiful central Illinois. I love Indiana tracks and drivers, but sometimes close is good. We did have at least one fan from Indy over tonight. Frank Daigh |

![]() I know it was quite windy last night, and I know they were fighting the rain earlier in the day, so I understand they probably didn't dump much water on the track the night before. I also know they're under a curfew, so I don't expect a wholesale re-working of the track. But, how long would it take to have the water truck go out and make a quick pass or two around the top side of the track at intermission? Granted, any water they could've put down would likely have burnt off within the first several laps. But doing nothing gives the impression that, fair or not, they don't care.:headbang I don't mind a slick track, Lord knows a lot of times the racing is better when the track is slick. But last night went beyond slick, it was a dust bowl. |
