It didnt look like he ever got comfortable, kept trying different lines but never found one that worked for him. Funny thing was I was telling Mrs Vogler about him on the drive up and said, "You will be meeting him in victory lane later" boy was I wrong, Instead she got to meet someone she already knew

The learning curve at Winchester, Salem, Toledo, etc can be quite steep. You are right, he never looked comfortable in the car. The "hills" can be very difficult to conquer for new drivers. A couple of trips and I am sure he will figure it out. Certainly not for the faint of heart.

Tracey has been there, done that a number of times. A very deserving winner and I enjoyed hearing his comments in victory lane. The quantity of cars was down but the quality was very good. I just wish that somehow, someway this problem can be fixed.

With the DARF/HARF discount it was a very good day of racing. An excellent modified race and the front wheel drives are always entertaining. Maybe not an instant classic, but certainly worth the price of admission.

Larson said this was his first time at Winchester and didnt get any practice/testing before race day. Hopefully Mrs. Vogler will meet him in victory lane next time.

Not as good as I would have thought. Maybe a 1/3 full. A great day weather wise but many are reluctant to show with the state of the USAC pavement series. Also, the "new" (old) promotional team at Winchester isn't getting it done. When Glen Luckett, RJ Scott & Greg Wood (CRA) didn't come back, I felt that this place would suffer again. Winchester won't be any better until they get an agressive promotional team in place. The old "open the gates and they will come" just won't work anymore.
