Hats off to Dennis Shroud for bringing the USAC Sprints back to the Kansas City area. In fact, Valley Speedway has brought some of the biggest racing events to K C this year, USMTS, SMP, and now USAC. Big crowds for all three races, you might say it is the 1/4 mile track that could and did. Thanks Dennis for the efforts.

The best in the business of open wheel non wing racing came into Valley Speedway on the last leg of their central states swing and put on one whale of a show for the good size crowd on hand. 35 cars showed up with a lot of the local guys testing their talents against the USAC regulars.

Eventual winner John Stanbrough had to work his way thru the B-Main and would start 8th on the grid, with a good jump on the start John was in 2nd place and doging Brady Bacon for the lead. After taking the lead Stanbrough rode the top of the track.

The hard charger award must go to Robert Ballou coming from 10th to second, Robert made two big slide jobs late in the race to take the 2nd place. Enjoy.

Jon just like Dave still have a lot of wins left in them, I for one am glad they are still giving it there all so the " Kids " coming up can learn from the best. You never know when Jon (or Dave) is going to set fire to the racing world and be unstoppable. We take for granted sometimes how good we have it being able to watch Jon or Dave race three nights a week close to home. Good job Jon, I for one hope things go well the rest of the season, I also hope you and Dave come back next year with the same fire we are used to watching here in Indiana.
