The trailer looks great for Sprint Week. I know that they had cameras on a different car every night. It would be good to see non wing sprints on Speed Ch. Sunday after sprint week I didn't see anything about sprint week on any of the recap shows what's up with that? When this airs we need to let these guys know how much we enjoyed it and want more of it. P.S. I am planning on going to the F1 race in Austin TX next year!

Yes, we actually had not one, but three on-board camera systems on two separate cars every night, in addition to three external track cameras and two mobile ENG camera crews working in the pits. The plan is to produce two 30-minute pilot programs, but from that point I must defer all questions to USAC. The credit for this effort goes entirely to USAC's leadership for taking this initiative. Obviously, we hope to place a full 13-episode series on a major network. But I repeat - USAC will determine when and where the program will be shown and I cannot speak on their behalf. Our job is to hustle and make the best program we possibly can for USAC fans, and that is precisely what we are doing. Episode 1 is already in production. If you A) like what we're doing and B) want more silver crown/sprint/midget racing on TV, here are some specific things you can do that will make a real, concrete difference: - Call or email USAC (CLICK HERE) and let them know that you enjoyed the trailer and thank them for supporting this effort. Your feedback is vital. If you like the trailer and want to see it on TV, I strongly suggest you SAY SO.Trust me - these things will make a difference. Please know that Sopwith is an Indiana-based racing company that televises only motorsports-related events. I spent every Saturday night at Paragon Speedway since I was 12 years old. Our lead editor shot off road racing. One of our ENG mobile cameras has shot open wheel racing for years, the other was the director of the CORR racing broadcast on ESPN2. Our assistant producer has been a racer's wife for 25 years. We also operate our own race team. Nearly everyone on our crew is a native Hoosier and race fan or participant. We passionately love Midwest open wheel racing just like you. Thank you for your support, and I hope hearing the available information directly from the producers is helpful to you. Thanks to all again for your kind words. Our crew worked very hard on that trailer and it is encouraging to hear from you. Thats good stuff right there.
Personally, for me, the Speed Channel is a waste of a channel. The Austrailian World Cup, Superbike, almost 24 hours of Nascar reruns, etc, just doesnt do much for me. If there is enough interest for a modified show on versus, which I did enjoy, there has to be more than enough interest for a decent sprint car show, or at least the weekly airing of a race. Versus usually has some winged races on, but they dont even show the WOO or All Stars. It would be great to see some Hoosier sprint car racing on TV! But, I am living in a fantasy world! |
