marks the 75th anniversary of the birth of Jim Clark. I will never forget seeing him drive to a convincing victory in the 1965 Indianapolis 500, which was my first year to attend.
He was one of the greatest Formula One drivers ever, and even competed in a 500 mile NASCAR race at Rockingham, NC on Oct. 29, 1967 in a Holman-Moody Ford. He had been hired by Ford in an effort to try to put a stop to Richard Petty's phenomenal winning streak. Richard won 27 races that season, including a streak of ten in a row.
Jim was a real gentleman and his untimely passing at Hockenheim, Germany on April 7, 1968 in a Formula Two race left a huge void in the motorsports world.
