I was in Indy Wednesday picking up a Chalk Chassis at Pace Performance Coatings for HAR. Went to the office to give them the check and get the invoice and had a nice surprise. The gentleman I talked to was the 1968 Indy 500 Rookie of the year Bill Vukovich. I didn't know he worked there but had a nice visit and could have stayed there for hours talking to him. I remember the first time I saw him race was at New Bremen in 1967 when it was paved. He was in a Wally Meskowski red and white number 17. Bill said to me "do you remember how I did that day?"....I said "yeah, you won" and a big smile lit up his face....priceless!! Super nice gentleman!!
