I was wondering what the ballpark number on the difference in horsepower in a Ford Focus Motor and the VW autocraft motors that everybody uses in the small bull rings like the FT. Wayne Rumble? Any info on the differences whether it be low in torque or whatever would be appreciated. Thanks, Jake

Sealed Scream Focus motors were supposed to be 175 to 185 HP. Maybe Keith Iaia will chime in with actual HP & torque numbers& RPM.

According to my Desktop Dyno modeling software:
122" Focus with Cams & headwork but still wet sump gives
212 HP @ 7500 rpm & 190 ft-lbs at 4000 rpm
I'd be nervous about the crank and rods at 7500 rpm though.

For the 151" AutoCraft I got 261 hp @ 8500 rpm & 254 ft-lb @2500 rpm
For 166" version 286 HP @ 8500 rpm & 268 ft-lb @ 2500 rpm.

Considering that the top "conventional" midget motors are reported to be putting out 325 to 375 HP it isn't surprising the AutoCrafts have faded on the bigger tracks.
