Just a note of thanks to all the people who sent shirts, hats, money, etc. to benefit Chase Hemme. The bowling outing on Saturday had a very nice turnout, great to see lots of kids there to help their friend. Thanks to the generosity of race fans, they raised enough money to build Chase a handicap-accessible shower and then some. Chase is a 15-year-old who is confined to a wheelchair since being struck by a car a few years ago. His dad Harry died of cancer earlier this year, and was a longtime friend of mine. Three guys in particular read my column in NSSN about Chase a few weeks ago, and stepped forward to donate the plumbing fixtures needed. Boy, the world is filled with great people, eh?

I was so proud to see all the racing shirts, etc. that people sent from all over the country. We racers might argue and fuss amongst ourselves at times, but without a doubt, racing people are the greatest people on earth.:thumb

And I offer my thanks for helping make Harry's wish come true, even after his passing.

Dave, Thanks for doing your part in helping. We take our lives for granted way to often, and don't realize how good we have it. It makes me feel good to know i can help out the needy. Taking time to help out was great Dave. Its also nice to know there are many great people in the racing community willing to step forward and help out.
Sincerely, Dave Rudisell
