From the Rumble Series: Rumbleseries.com President Tony Barhorst announces the addition of Buckeye Bowl Indoor Midget Car Nationals, a new indoor race event date at the Ohio State Fairgrounds Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 1. There will be a load in, practice and Halloween Pit Party on Friday, Oct. 31.

The United States Auto Club returns with a special event that combines the National, Regional, Kenyon, and Ford Focus Cars running a full show with a 60-lap feature on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The Outlaw Modified 600 cc Midgets take off their wings to run their full show and a 50-lap feature. The Lucas Oil Quarter Midgets, and Junior Sprints will also compete.

The Rumbleseries kart classes will have a 50-percent raise in payout this year for Columbus. The karts classes will feature senior medium, senior heavy, junior heavy, senior champ caged karts, and junior sportsman caged karts will compete.

The load in starts at noon on Oct. 31 with practice running from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. A Halloween Pit Party will be Friday during and after practice. The pits open at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, the front gates open at noon, with the full USAC event after 7 p.m.

“I have put a lot of thought into how we can improve on the event we had there in January of 2007“, said Barhorst.

“The Nov. 1 date should have warmer temperatures that will help with the cars going from the pit building across the alley into the Coliseum. We are going to try to make the track a few feet wider, and use large ATV's with rollbars to push the midgets off, instead of the pickup trucks that were used at the last event.

“I am looking to possibly add one more venue to our Columbus and Fort Wayne events to make this a true indoor series. The best part our series plays is the unique showcase it is for new talent like 2007 Fort Wayne winner Billy Wease, and 2007 Columbus winner Blake Fitzpatrick,” said Barhorst”

Entries will be available by e-mailing _tbracefest@aol.com_ (mailto:tbracefest@aol.com) , or calling 937-369-3693 for event information.

The racing was good at Columbus among all the divisions. The karts and quarter midget drivers are the future of midget racing. (Example Dakoda Armstrong was in QM's in the early part of this decade)

The 600s looked the best there. The midgets will have a better set up and race idea after racing in the Coliseum once.I plan on trying to widen the track to give them more passing room. Our Columbus race is a throw back to USAC's pre 1990 Indoor racing days when they raced at the Salt Palace, Cincinnati Gardens, and Rosemont Horizon among many others.

You see many different engines and chassis (VW's etc ) going head to head.

Best,
Tony Barhorst
