CONCORD, N.C. – Red Bull Racing development driver Cole Whitt will attempt to make his Nationwide Series debut Nov. 13 at Phoenix International Raceway. The 19-year-old Whitt finished fourth in the 2010 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East standings and was runnerup for the series’ rookie honors. His East crew, headed by former Cup crew chief Randy Cox, will be his Nationwide crew. “We had built some Nationwide cars earlier in the year in case we wanted to do something down the road,” Red Bull Racing Vice President and General Manager Jay Frye said Friday. “He’s done a really good job.” The plan for Whitt next year has not been determined. |
