I can sum it up in a couple of words. The track was in superb shape considering the amount of rain that fell. the last ten laps of the late model feature were great, but if you didnt stay for the modified feature you missed out on a classic. when you see spridge, chris windom, jonesy and crew jumping up and down and high fiving like they were, you know it was a hell of a race lol

like you said the track was in great shape...nice8-10 cushion all the way around would have been a great night for about 40 non wing sprints...but instead the late guys came out bitchin about how high the cushion was....so what happened got they brought the grader out chopped on the cushion make about 2 ft of progress and the grader ran out of fuel...i forgot late models gotta have it hard and slick.....great show overall...

A good show last night for sure. I'm with you Lloyd, with the cushion they had it would have been a hell of a track for the sprint cars. Joe has done a great job in reviving the Put and I was glad to see a decent crowd on hand. Weekday events like this can be iffy at best. All around, a nice night of racing. The only hitch was the grader running out of fuel. The late model feature and I was out of the gate at 10:30 PM. Sorry to miss the rest of the features, but 5:30 AM bell comes early.

Best finish in a while for the Mods

Pretty good show. My first time at Putnamville and the track itself kinda reminds me of Kokomo. Flat and tight around the bottom (what am I describing again?) with a good cushion on the top. Very rough on the top though. I asked one of the locals if the track is usually rough like that and he said "Oh yeah, every week same spots." One look at that catch fence made me think of Danny Smith's accident at Attica. If the racing is good I can look past a lot, and it was pretty good racing last night. Starting at 8 was way too late on a weeknight, and running 4 classes was probably too much also for anybody that had to work. It wasn't a problem for me but a promotor needs to think about that when making the schedule. Pretty good crowd for the middle of sprintcar country.

According to the announcer the late models had a C-Main but no B-Main, and if I had a dollar for every time he said "ignore what I just said" or "let me make a correction" I would have got in for free. Lloyd a lot of people would have stayed if there wasn't a caution every 2 laps in the bomber feature. The top 6 cars or so including yourself put on a good show though. Cutting the cushion down was a good idea. Watching Babb reel in O'neal was great, but O'neal shut the door on him pretty hard with 2 to go going into 1. Late models are just awesome. Gilpin gave that modified feature away when he went to the bottom. Baumgartner being a regular had to be licking his chops when Gilpin did that.
