C.W. PROMOTIONS ASSUMES LEADERSHIP ROLE AT ANGELL PARK
Officials of Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisc. and principals of C.W. Promotions of Milwaukee, Wisc. have announced a multiple-year agreement which will facilitate the continuance of Midget racing at the popular oval, one of America’s oldest continually operating racing facilities. Midget racing debuted at the track in 1946.
The agreement includes five USAC Mopar National Midget races, starting with a July 3 and 4 “doubleheader” and continuing with similar August 28-29 races and the prestigious September 4 "Fireman’s Nationals."
Chris Wilke, president of C.W. Promotions, stated: “We are honored to continue the rich tradition of Midget racing at Angell Park. Personally I am very excited for the opportunity to expand and grow racing in the central Wisconsin area.”
In addition to the announced race dates for 2010, the new promotional team will be seeking additional opportunities in the coming weeks for the facility which also houses the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame. The Wilke name has been synonymous with the sport of auto racing in Wisconsin for many years and the Wilke-Pak Racing Team has forged an all-time record-tying 133 USAC National race victories.
Firm dates for USAC Mopar National Midget races at Angell Park Speedway are as follows:
July 3, July 4, August 28, August 29 and September 4.
