:confused:I was just sitting here watching it snow AGAIN!!!! here in Central Illinois and began wondering if anyone had heard what if anything Vermillion County over in Danville, IL would be doing this year with sprints. With the addition of Morgan county running non wing sprints this year I am excited for us Illinois sprint people but would hate to see what was started last year at Danville thrown away. Hope to have a couple of good tracks to run this year in Illinois. Does anyone know anything about it or the Bell Helmet Shootout.

Just remember while it is snowing outside, we are only 5 or 6 weeks away from firing motors:thumb

Someone on here mentioned that the Bell shootout might become a mini touring series with Danville on it. I think Fairbury, Farmer City, and Lincoln were mentioned too. I am anxious to find out myself.

I would hope that somebody like a Bob Sargent would start a Bell Series with Danville, Macon and others. But what would be a good open weekend, maybe a Thur, Fri Sat

D O you have been pretty good on here but you do not want to see the non-wing sprints at macon in its present size and fencing condition a major castrophy waiting to happen there.

Vermillion county speedway
Charleston Speedway
Granite City
Pevely
Canton
Knoxville,IL 1/2 mile
Red Hill
Lincoln
Farmer city
Jacksonville
Kentucky Lake
Paducah
Terre Haute
Kamp
Haubstadt

These are some track in IL and close to the border that would make a nice little speedweek deal.

Knoxville is only used for the Knox County Fair. The rest of the time the track isn't used. The lighting is a major issue there.

Farmer City would be a great place to have a final non wng sprintcar race in it's last year of business.

Canton will most likely never see non wing cars there any time soon. Not that they didn't have some darn good racing, it's just the track took a heavy toll on equipment and little fan turnout.

Although not listed Fairbury is a fender series track now and won't hold any openwheel races in the near or distant future from what I have been told and my sources are usually pretty good there.

Farmer city right now will be running thru 2010 they did get at least a two year extension and hopefully when they have some elections in the city there they will get rid of the two freaking dumbazzes that are causing the problem there.

What about Bureau County Speedway in Princeton, Ill.? They've had a couple of World of Outlaw races there.
I always drove past Knoxville en route to Indiana for the holidays and always wondered about the track and if it pulled any spectators.
