The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series (HOSS) has released their 2010 schedule. I realize this is pavement with wings but still sprint cars.

[ I realize this is pavement with wings but still sprint cars. ]

Amazing statement. Just makes me giggle.

Guessing Tim and Hank and Jimmy and Geoff and Troy and Sondi, not to mention Jeff Bloom and Dave Steele who CHOOSE to periodically race in this series, would definitely disagree with the poster's lack of respect for Winged Pavement Sprint Car competition.

By-the-way, don't forget that Hurryin' Hank Lower, who currently is one of the top drivers in the H.O.S.S. series, (Hank finished in the top-three 8 out of 16 starts last year) is STILL the driver with the most wins (71) in the SOD series. He and many others in H.O.S.S have a lot of feature wins on dirt! By-the-way, Hank last raced in SOD during the 1995 season, so his record has held up for 15 years!

I, too, grew up a Dirt Track Sprint (without wings) fan and still enjoy immensely watching races at Gas City and other dirt tracks in Indiana. However, if you haven't yet experienced the speed and adrenaline-rush of watching Winged Sprints at Winchester or Salem, you're missing out on great racing. Come watch Steele, Bloom, Cox and Lower battle each other at Winchester on Sunday, May 23rd, 2:00pm!

James,

No disrespect what so ever. You don't need to sell me on Lower, Bloom, McCune, Kaiser, Eden, Blonde, Cox, Koehler, Steele, etc. I also enjoy watching the HOSS series and Auto Value Series run and I will be at Winchester as well as other venues on the circuit.

The comment was more to the point of many on this board are dirt only, non wing fans. They either haven't seen the pavement stars or don't attend due to them being winged outlaws.

So don't throw me under the bus because I enjoy all types of racing. If it has wheels and goes fast, I have probably seen the action.

HOSS is running a bunch of races with the new Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series in 2010. It is the answer to short pavement fields and has attracted prominent support from new racers and also has a Comcast television package in place.

Scott,

You are correct and I am certainly pleased that we will be able to see more of the winged warriors this coming season. I have always enjoyed your call on the PA system as you provide a lot of information about the drivers, owners and sponsors. Another great year in store for the HOSS series.

Mike,

Please accept my apologies. I didn't mean to "throw you under the bus."

Please stop by Hank's pit and say HI at Winchester! James
