has anybody heard about they are going to be having any big block modified races here this year... I know when they had the one at lawrenceburg the guy that was on the p.a. was talking about getting a few tracks to run on????? any news ?

I don't know if there will be any tracks in Indiana running them this year or not, but a guy brought one down to Lincoln Park Speedway on Sept. 5 to show it off to some of the drivers and was discussing potentially running them on different tracks, but I'm not sure what ultimately came of the plan. Pretty sharp looking car though, but it seemed to have way too much motor for LPS!

Thanks for your comments. I was the person trying to put this series together for Indiana in 2010. The feeling I got from drivers, owners & fans was very supportive for a great series of racing. Unfortunately, when I re-contacted the promoters that showed interest I could not get a absolute committment on dates for next year. Without a absolute committment I could not ask local interested racers/owners to invest into such a expensive undertaking. I really wanted this to happen, trust me. I tried. Hopefully, in the future, this series will make it to this area.

Being from Pa I see the modifieds all the time. I went to Eldora for the 1st SDS race, Big blocks were great at the Big E. I spoke to Earl that night he loved them. I think Stewart likes the mods also. I can only hope they grow in the midwest. The modifieds are returning to Charlotte NC at the end of 2010.
