I was fortunate enough to help Mel and Don this weekend and what an honor it was. They are 2 of the greatest guys you will ever meet anywhere. Mel has appeared at our local racecar show for many years and has even came to our church's weekend camp we do for our youth and spoke to the kids. Truly a class act and a career that will likely never be matched. King of the Midgets forever. That 61 would never look the same if it was used again. Maybe it could be retired somehow if that is possible or just a racers agreement to not use it on a midget. Just a thought would be a great gesture to a great man and career.
