With the winter coming on, can anybody suggest some good racing-related reading? I read Lone Wolf last year and really enjoyed it. I'm about done with Crime & Punishment, and I want something with some horsepower to go to next.

Several of these books are out of print. Lucky for me, I do my shopping at used book stores,swap meets and garage sales. And,don't forget about your local Public library.I've always found them to be eager to help in the search for a hard to find book.

Not merely a racing book but Pat Sullivan's book about Joie Ray should be checked out. It covers society/culture in Louisville when Joie grew up, as well as his racing exploits.

Brad Doty's book is VERY good....I can't remember the exact title but Dave Argabright was the co-author. And of course, Dave's book co-written w/ Economaki is a good one as well..."Let 'em all go"

One of the best sprint car books ever!

I first read it in 1974; I've re-read it dozens of times since. I even purchased a reprint in the early 90's and read it again!

One story I'll always remember from the book is the story of "the malevolent beast", a sprint car that either killed or injured several drivers.....

Jack Hewitt's book is an easy read and has some history in it.
