Congratulations to Kevin Swindell, who takes night one at Calistoga Speedway (CA) tonight over Matt Mitchell, Blake Miller, and Bobby McMahan (who started 20th...first time in decades without a wing)!
I was watching from home via the live feed. Definitely one of the best races I've seen this season. I only wish I could have been there to see it live.
The young guns were impressive, including Kyle Larsen, who got up to the top three in the closing laps and then jumped the cushion on the last lap.
Kudos to the Beef Packers team, who now have won two opening nights in a row at the Louie Vermeil Classic!
Big thumbs up to Blake Miller for setting a new track record tonight (19.33). Shannon McQueen also set a new track record in the midgets (20.48)...only a second off of Blake's sprint record lap.
Great track and fantastic setting around the place and the racing was great to watch back here in the midwest tonight thanks to all who made it happen.
Nice run for Kevin....haven started mid field, caught a much needed caution,to make his run too the front of Matt Mitchell,a little past half way for the win!!........Grandma!!...thanks for the info on the 'Mad Man' at GC/Burg!!.from 'Midgy'.Hey Lisa!!..nice to meet ur group!!....as I said I had met him at 08 360 W.W.Victory BBQ at Dave Ellis' place!!.........
