Some times I don't understand.............

I've read on here numerous times where people say that they want the races over earlier so they can get home at a reasonable hour. We spend several hours getting ready to go race... in some cases we travel many miles to race... and then once we're at the track some people want it to be over early so they can go home??? folks, to me... THAT IS STUPID.

I don't make as many races as I use too but when I do... I never want to leave the track unless we're going to another race. I can get my sleep during the winter or when I die!

Can someone please explain why races should be over early? PLEASE... I don't understand it.

OK rant over... Now... I need to go to bed...

So the kids who attend don't fall asleep and have to be carried back to the cars without getting the chance to meet the drivers/heroes and thus, hopefully, becoming more avid fans. Economical use of time is simply more courteous. Long lulls in the on-track action is unlike most any other sporting event, whose bread and butter is a constancy of action.

I can see the point about kids...that is fair enough. but to play devils advocate... how many of you were kids when you went to the track... didn't you stay long hours and you are still avid fans today. Right?

As for the lull in action... I've always felt that time was great for catching up with my friends. Trust me... there aren't very many...:2:

As a fan... YES. but for someone that needs to get a car ready for a feature event just after completing the dreaded B-main... a little lull in action is welcomed. There is always 2 sides to everything...

I realy don't care about what time the show ends,but I can only take so much of the B.S. that goes on. I understand that the teams need time to prep the cars between the B and the A What I don't understand is why does it take 10 to 20 laps under yellow to get the line up right! if a driver wont get in line stop scoring him.

In reflecting back, I think most of the races were during the day. Terre Haute, New Bremen, Winchester, Eldora....I rarely remember night racing back then. A really long day meant getting home around 7pm.

Have to agree with Turn4Rob. I don't care what time it's over just start on time. I like to visit as much as the next person but I really like the action to start as advertised. There is always enough downtime to visit. Plus the good guy drivers always seem to hang around to greet the fans at least for a little while.
