24th ANNUAL GIGANTIC AERIAL FIREWORKS DISPLAY AT BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY THIS FRIDAY NIGHT, JULY 3RD

Bloomington, Ind.-June 28th, 2009- Bloomington Speedway, along with Bloomington Powersports, proudly present the 24th Annual Gigantic Aerial Fireworks display on Friday night, July 3rd. On tap along with the fireworks display will be the Safety-Kleen Sprint Cars racing for $1,400 to win, O'Neal Wood Products UMP Modifieds racing for $600 to win with proper decals, and the Tire and Wheel Center UMP Super Stocks racing for $500 to win with proper decals. The Bloomington Speedway fireworks display is widely regarded as one of the best displays in the Midwest, and this year's edition will certainly not disappoint. Make sure you get to the track early, as this event produces one of the largest crowds of the season.

Bloomington Speedway is coming off of one of the most emotional victories in recent memory at the Bloomington Speedway, as Kenny Niflis, of Bedford, IN, scored his first ever feature win in a Sprint Car at the 21st Annual Sheldon Kinser Memorial. The win was worth $3,000, plus over $1,000 in lap prize money. Niflis won the B-Main and started 16th on the grid in the main event. He systematically picked off driver after driver before taking the lead from Brady Short on lap 25. Avoca, IN native Matt Bex picked up his second win of the season in the O'Neal Wood Products UMP Modified main event by a half straightaway over Clint DeMoss. In Tire and Wheel Center UMP Super Stock action, Steve Peeden of Paragon, IN scored his second straight win at Bloomington Speedway over Brad Cummings.

Brady Short currently holds an 18 point advantage over Jeff Bland, Jr. in the Safety-Kleen Sprint Car division, with Ethan Barrow moving up to the third position in points. Scott Hampton and Ty Deckard remain in the top five, sitting 127 and 130 points behind respectively. The O'Neal Wood Products UMP Modified division remains close, as Kent Robinson holds a nine point advantage over Clint Demoss. Josh Eads sits 14 points behind Robinson, with John Demoss and Matt Bex rounding out the top five. Clayton Perry and Brad Cummings currently sit tied atop the Tire and Wheel Center UMP Super Stock points standings with 426 points apiece. Lurking in third, only four points behind them is Troy Clark. Lee Hobbs sits fourth 24 points behind, with Jack Frye fifth, only 46 points behind.

Pit Gates open at 4:30 p.m., Grandstands 5:30 p.m., Hot Laps 6:30 p.m., Racing at 7:30 p.m. Kids 12 & Under FREE general admission with paid adult, General Admission $12, Pit Admission $25.

Depending on how i feel, I will probably have to make my first return to the red high banks in about four years (I gotta remember their on Eastern time now as last time I almost was late.
